Waiting

Well, we are waiting right now! We completed our homestudy interview. So they are writing it up right now. So hopefully in another week that will be done. The interview was so quick and painless! They walked through our house, asked some questions, and was out the door in an hour and a half. We have all our papers ready for our dossier except our homestudy. So we are almost paper ready! Yeah! Then the real waiting starts.

Update

Since I last added a post, we have received our binder! And boy it is big!!! But we are going right through it. We have started collecting our documents for our dossier and we are half way there. We have our homestudy interview Wednesday evening. We also sent in our I-600. So it is so nice getting so much accomplished! We have been reading this book "There's no me without you" and it has given Derek and I so much information about Ethiopia. It truly is eye opening. Any friends and family, I would encourage you to read it if you want to find out more information on Ethiopia and it also is a great story about an Ethiopian women rescuing orphans.

Also, I had a jewelry show last week that I meet an amazing bunch of women! One lady was friends with an Ethiopian women who lives here in this area. Also, 2 other women had adopted before and they shared their story with me. And then another lady also told me of 2 other families in our town that have adopted from Ethiopia. I couldn't believe all the connections I made at that show! It was defiently a "God Thing"!!!

Received our Application

I just received an email on Friday and IAG, our agency, just received our application. We will be receiving our binder full of information this week and start on our dossier! Also received a call from our homestudy agency and they will call next week to set up a time for our interview. We are just so excited to get this journey started!!

Just the Beginning

We have just started this blog so we can update our family and friends with what is going on with the adoption. So far we have picked our agency for our home study and today we sent in answers to a bunch of questions that we had to fill out. We have also filled out our application for our placing agency, IAG, and will be submitting that tomorrow! We are so excited and can't wait for this journey to begin!
